We launched in January 2009 with more than two dozen veteran Georgia journalists and media professionals.
We produce news feeds that go to every Georgia newspaper and broadcast station as well as more than 15,000 opinion leaders across the state.
Georgia Online News Service provides journalism that keeps the public (via these existing news media) informed about public policy and social issues that are increasingly difficult to find in today’s 30-second sound bite media frame.
Instead of fires, crime and corruption, we concentrate on public policy matters like transportation, housing, education, arts & culture, business, justice, healthcare, and the like.
Because our content is written, sourced and edited by trusted veteran journalists, it is “print ready” for the next day’s newspapers or immediate publishing on web sites when it arrives in our subscribers’ newsroom. Individual subscribers benefit from a daily batch of long form, in-depth reporting on state-wide public policy and social commentary issues of the day.
You’ll note our commentary is decidedly post-partisan. Randy Evans and Ralph Reed are regular contributors. John Sugg, Lyle Harris and Hollis Gillespie have weekly columns. For years David Beasley managed op-eds for the AJC and now he does it for Georgia Online News Service.
During our beta phase, subscription is free to news organizations and individuals alike. Please share with your networks and invite others to join the Georgia Online News Service FB group.
If you are interested in receiving the daily news feed, send a note to publisher@georgiaonlinenews.org

Few mainstream scientists believe the phenomenon literally occurs as reported. However, there is little doubt that many apparently stable persons who report alien abductions are sincere: as reported in the Harvard University Gazette in 1992, Dr. John Edward Mack investigated over 60 claimed abductees, and “spent countless therapeutic hours with these individuals only to find that what struck him was the ‘ordinariness’ of the population, including a restaurant owner, several secretaries, a prison guard, college students, a university administrator, and several homemakers … ‘The majority of abductees do not appear to be deluded, confabulating, lying, self-dramatizing, or suffering from a clear mental illness,’ he maintained.”
